Miles Davis

Miles Davis, Suite 31

Miles Davis was an American composer and trumpet player (born Illinois, 1926 – died California, 1991), who is considered to be one of the most important figures in the history of jazz. He was a chameleon who was always changing and his name is associated with all the modern forms of jazz: bebop, cool jazz, hard bop, modal jazz and jazz fusion. His trumpet playing was characterised by enormous musical sensitivity and a smooth, delicate sound with the smokiness of a Harmon mute.
